From unprecedented technological acceleration to climate change and political unrest, we are living in precarious times. Anab Jain, our guest, believes that by creating concrete experiences from the future, we can transform decision making today.

Anab shared with us why we should listen to “murmurs of future potential”, how she uses speculative design to turn huge human challenges into tangible design artefacts and what she’s learned from working with governments and international organisations around the globe.

Anab Jain is a designer, futurist, filmmaker, educator and co-founder of Superflux, a future-forecasting design studio. Over the last 15 years, Anab has gained international recognition for her work and commentary on design, innovation, emerging technologies and complex futures. She has exhibited at MoMA New York, National Museum of China, and Tate Modern.

Superflux creates worlds, stories, and tools that provoke and inspire us to engage with the precarity of our rapidly changing world. Over the years, the studio has gained critical acclaim for producing work that navigates the entangled wilderness of our technology, politics, culture, and environment to imagine new ways of seeing, being, and acting. The studio’s partners and clients include various government entities including the Government of UAE, Innovate UK, Cabinet Office UK, and UNDP.
